Sega Game Gear is a handheld video game console released in 1990.
Game Gear was Sega's response to the Atari Lynx and the Game Boy. The system was technically less powerful than the Atari Lynx, but had the benefit of better support. The Game Gear was equipped with a color screen, and could also serve as a portable television with the help of a separately available television tuner. Another expansion was the Master Gear Converter with which Sega Master System games could be played on the Game Gear.
