    Product description:

The handheld game console, which also offers video and audio file playback and photo viewing capabilities, was first introduced in its home country of Japan on December 12, 2004. It was launched in North America on March 24, 2005, and in Europe. he appeared on September 1, 2005.

On July 11, 2007, Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai presented a new PSP, the PSP Slim & Lite, at E3 in Culver City, California. This new PSP can display high-quality video images, allowing users to connect the device to high-definition televisions. The device is also 19 percent lighter and 33 percent thinner than its predecessor.

On August 20, 2008, Sony announced the successor to the PSP Slim & Lite, under the name PSP-3000. This new PSP has a built-in microphone, a rounder design and a much improved screen. With this screen it is possible to play outside with a clear image. Shortly after the product was launched in the Netherlands, reports came out that the new screen was suffering from so-called scanlines. These are stripes on the screen in fast moving images. Sony has announced that this is due to the hardware and that there will be no update that ensures that the user no longer suffers from scanlines. This PSP was released in the Netherlands on October 15, 2008.
