The Nintendo DS Lite is a portable game console from the Japanese company Nintendo. It is an upgraded version of the Nintendo DS. It was announced on January 26, 2006 and has been on sale in Japan since March 2, 2006 for 16,800 yen (approximately €110). On March 3, 2009, it was succeeded by the Nintendo DSi, which in turn was succeeded by the Nintendo DSi XL on March 5, 2010. In 2011, the Nintendo DS Lite was discontinued after selling 93.86 million units.
