Flashback is set in the year 2140, where Detective Conrad B. Hart is chased by mutants. His escape attempt ends in the jungle where the game begins. Due to amnesia, Conrad cannot remember anything. He finds a holo cube with a pre-recorded message telling him to meet his friend Ian in New Washington.
On arrival at Ian Conrad's memory is restored. He wants to return to Earth as soon as possible, but the only way to get a ticket for this is to win one in Death Tower, a game show where participants fight to the death. Conrad wins the game and travels to Earth.
Here he is chased by the Morphs. He manages to escape to their hideout where he overhears a conversation discussing plans to take over Earth. During an escape attempt, Conrad manages to use a teleporter to travel to the home planet of the Morphs. He's been ordered to take down the mastermind that controls all the Morphs. This works, and Conrad manages to escape with a spaceship.
