The Nintendo DS Lite is a portable game console from the Japanese company Nintendo. It is an improved version of the Nintendo DS. It was announced on January 26, 2006 and has been on sale in Japan since March 2, 2006 for 16,800 yen (approximately € 110). On March 3, 2009, it was succeeded by the Nintendo DSi, which in turn was succeeded on March 5, 2010 by the Nintendo DSi XL. Nintendo DS Lite was discontinued in 2011 after selling 93.86 million copies.
