The Game Boy Micro was first shown at E3 2005 in Los Angeles. It is the third version of the Game Boy Advance handheld console. Unlike the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP, the Game Boy Micro can only play Game Boy Advance games. Game Boy Color and original Game Boy games cannot be played with it.
The Game Boy Micro's small screen (5 cm in diameter) is illuminated with the same technology found in the Nintendo DS. This technology ensures that the screen has excellent illumination and that the built-in lithium-ion battery does not run out as quickly.
The Game Boy Micro was launched in Europe on November 4, 2005 in four different colors (blue, red, green and metallic) for the price of € 99. Thanks to interchangeable front plates, the Game Boy Micro can be customized to your own taste. This is the last Game Boy console released.
