FIFA 97 was the fourth edition of the already popular FIFA Football series. David Ginola was on the cover of the game in Europe. Bebeto was on the cover of the USA version.
The most important change on the previous edition is the indoor mode. Here it was possible to play football without throws and corners, because the ball always stayed in play through the walls.
In this edition of FIFA Football, the English, French, Italian, German, Scottish and Dutch competitions were present.
It was also possible to play with multiple users (maximum 20). This was possible via the LAN and with 8 players via a modem.
