In Far Cry 5, the player is a police officer who travels to Hope County with a number of colleagues to find Joseph Seed, a criminal who has managed to live with his cult in the countryside of Hope County, Montana, USA. to take power, to arrest. As a self-proclaimed Messiah, he has many followers who do not shrink from using violence. Together with his two siblings, he occupies the game's map. The cult's followers are held in check by a drug called Bliss. The player must gain resistance points in the game to free each area. The player can do this by freeing outposts, completing story missions, completing optional missions and more.
